Kenneth A. Simon, Managing Director
For
the past 25 years, Ken has specialized in providing financial
advisory services in bankruptcy and insolvency matters. He
has been a financial advisor to unsecured creditors’
committees, debtors, lenders, equity and retiree committees.
Ken also has 15 years of experience as an auditor with nationally
recognized public accounting firms.
As
a reorganization and insolvency specialist, Ken is well versed
in evaluating the ongoing viability of troubled companies,
analyzing short term cash flow projections, business plans
and Plans of Reorganization (“POR”). Ken’s
extensive experience across a variety of business sectors
enables him to provide clients with a detailed assessment
of the specific financial and operational problems experienced
by a troubled company, along with an objective recommendation
of proposed strategies to remedy the existing problems. Furthermore,
Ken has the skill sets needed to identify and implement an
exit strategy that will maximize the value of the estate .
Accordingly, his engagement responsibilities typically include
significant participation in plan negotiations. Ken also has
extensive experience in preparing orderly liquidation analyses
that are needed in order to determine that the POR meets the
“Best Interest Test”. Importantly, Ken is well
versed with the accounting requirements of the U.S. Bankruptcy
Code and with related legal issues, such as fraudulent conveyances
and preferential transfers.
Ken
has experience in a variety of industries including retail,
telecommunications, transportation, textile and apparel, consumer
products and manufacturing. Recent engagements include Footstar,
Inc., Global Crossing, Inc., Delta Airlines, Inc., Salant
Corporation, Atkins Nutritionals Inc. and Oakwood Homes, Inc.
Ken
is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.
He graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelor in Business
Administration.
